How's this for change? - Correction

Correction: Linda Panetta is from Medford, NJ, is founder of SOA Watch/NE, and a 1988 graduate of Cabrini College. She is not the daughter of Leon Panetta. I posted the story following a tip, and after finding it on other blogs I find trustworthy. I apologize to our readers for the incorrect information.

Leon Panetta's daughter, an anti-military activist, is shown here hanging out with sworn enemies of the United States, dictator Hugo Chavez and Sandinista Daniel Ortega:

Any prospective CIA intelligence analyst would be asked to explain a close family members anti-American associations. Is anyone questioning Panetta, Obama's choice to head the CIA, about his daughter's activities?

What can I tell you Ziva,

These are the kind of people that follow Barack Hussein Obama and the ones that he has associated himself during his political life.

Tha's why we oppose Obama because we know very well that nothing good can come for America in the future with people like him and his associates in charge of the highest office in the land.

We'll see how long is going to take for the shit to hit the fan with this incoming administration.

I guess the American people have forgotten the painful lesson of the Jimmy Carter years in office.

A topsy turvy world indeed. But we who still think clearly must stay together.
Elsewhere I told you that National Review has a two page article by Otto Reich on the 50th anniversary. What I didn't add is that on page 12 of the same issue (NR 1/26) there is also a good paragraph.
It is good that babalu points out idiocies like the daughter of the expected head of the CIA is hugged by a communist thug. It is good to know all of the idiocies of the left that I learn about on this blog.
But allow me to again suggest that since most newspapers and magazines ignored the 50th and NR did not, that Cuban Americans ought to thank this magazine. Either write them a letter to thank them or buy the issue or, if you can, subscribe.
We conseratives have to stay together. It feels like we are shrinking in numbers. I hope my imopression is not correct.

That picture says everything I need to know about the Democratic Party and its current leaders. I can assure you that a regular Intelligence Officer who has that kind of close family relationship would have a difficult time hanging on to his security clearance. Yet, Obama and his DEM dominated Congress could care two shits about Panetta's associations, added on to his incredible unpreparedness to be the head of the CIA. It tells you how flippant the DEMs are about our national security and how this particular Administration will be staffed with folks who view the US as the root of all evil and find comfort with the most anti-US, anti-democratic elements in the world. She is a pathetic example of a self-absorbed, self-accualized, self-hating, self-destructive, ingrate, spoiled, and totally despicable sector of our society. Now her father, a fervant liberal, will direct the efforts of one of our most important organizations when it comes to protecting our country. It's sad and scary, and maddening to see what this country has done to itself. Also, for those of you out there who constantly tell us to 'chill out' and not get our panties 'all wadded up' about these things, I'd say your attitude is one of the reasons we find ourselves in this predicament. You're either a supporter or apologist for the liberal/left, or you just don't give a shit about what's happening. The international and domestic well-being of this great nation is too important to be placed in the hands of such gutless, twisted, self-destructive bastards who cling to a failed political philosophy that has brought nothing but misery and oppression to almost everyone it has touched. We need to get fired up and become as dedicated to our cause as those liberal bastards have been over the past 8 years. Seeing that picture, and knowing her associations makes me physically ill to know what's taking place on 20 JAN!

I wholeheartedly agree with you Mambi,

Unfortunately I run into so many people at work and in the street that are buying into Obama's bullshit and think that he'll make this country better. These people are for the reality shock of their lives that if not even funny.

What I'm afraid now is that the shit is going to have to hit the fan for the American people to finally wake-up and realize the enormous mistake they made by electing this anti-American bullshit Marxist and his cronies to the highest office, nothing else will do.

That is one hell of a scary picture. Not just one, but TWO dictators ~ the 52% who put PEO in the presidency have no memory and scant brains. These are the results of years of leftist brainwashings at our schools.

Reagan's kids were a disgrace while he was in office...and they are only marginally better now. Carlos Alvarez, our mayor and former police chief, has a son how literally just got out of jail for rape and kidnapping a minor. I'm also certain that despite her Republican credentials that there are a couple of people here who don't like Mary Cheney. Unless you live in a "24" world where agents and spies tell their kids everything you shouldn't have to worry.

I suppose being "prepared" is what made George Tenet do such a bang up job heading up the CIA. I've never liked Panetta and think he's a skunk but let hem screw up before crucifying him. We've stated our case for keeping him out - they don't care and THEY won they election so deal with it. When he screws up we pounce until then all this wailing is going to get us anywhere.

Posted by: theCardinal [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2009 08:31 PM

Yea, way to go Cardinal. Lets create equivalencies that don't make any fucking sense, and then say we need to bend over and take it up the rear. Your Tenet/Panetta comparison is like saying that having Al Franken as President is no different than having someone who's been a Governor, or Senator, or Cabinet Secretary, or Industry CEO - Jimminy Crickets. This isn't a God D... game, or some fucking fraternity. You can go relax, but some of us are going to call'm out every time we see it.

Posted by: Mambi [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 17, 2009 08:59 PM

I suppose 9/11 wasn't taking it up the rear. So when Panetta screws up as bad as Tenet give me a call.

What do you expect? We're going to have a tax cheat in charge of the IRS. Give me one reason why honest Americans should ever pay another penny in taxes again.

It's time to try George W and Tricky Dick Cheney for war crimes, corruption and abuse of power. As for Panetta, at least this White House will not conveniently turn its head (at the expense of thousands of American lives) when they see a terrorist attack coming... or have we forgotten that 9-11 saved the Bush presidency -- there is no chance he would have won the 2004 election without it. And admit it, W did not win in 2000... simply stole it with the help of a well placed little brother and the lady with the false eye lashes.

Posted by: Alvaro [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2009 09:29 AM

Eh hemmm ...

WOW! "Pod conversion" complete and successful there, Alvaro. Remember to have your better-half put your humanly remains out to the curb with the recycle bin ...

As to head-turning in run-ups to terrorist attacks ... please take the time to review the very long list of such terrorist attacks during the 1990s (YES, you MUST look back at the Clinton Admin. Sorry,I know how y`all like to just leave THAT sleeping horndog lie ... er, lay).

A good source of behind the scenes depiction can be oddly found in an ABC TV movie from a few years ago "The Path To 9-11" ... and I'd tell you to either rent or buy the dvd with the deleted scenes the Clinton machine pressured ABC into editing out (which would be included in said dvd) ... However, the Clinton machine has also pressured ABC into refusing releasing "The Path To 9-11" for the last couple years through an embargo on it ... much to the anger of the writer.

But just to recap.

Pres. Bush was in the office of POTUS for just a few months and had to deal with a terror attack on our soil that had been planned and designed for a long time prior to the Fla. 2000 'song and dance' ... Yet, HE allowed it to happen?

As to 9-11 "saving" Pres. Bush ... I believe it was folks from the former Clinton Admin (maybe even Willie himself) that coyly remarked they wished 9-11 had happened while he was in office.

Kerry lost 2004 because he stood on national TV and remarked that we would only defend ourselves and our nation IF the rest of the world agreed we should.

Bush won because he glared across the debate stage at the dolt and firmly retorted, 'We don't need the permission of anyone to defend this country ...'

For the last 8 years this man has done the hard things ... the unpopular things ... knowing full-well his "legacy" would be one of disdain and hate-filled vitriol from the MSM and the left".

Clinton, on the other hand, played the victim whose private sex life was used by him and his supporters as a means of playing the victim card. Anyone who is completely honest knows HIS crime was not a 'hoover in the Oval Office' (I don't give a rat's ass about that ... have at it) ... but his lying and obstructing an investigation ... when the simple truth in a timely manner would have kept the country from the bullshit ... and made him actually look more like a friggin' man with balls. Instead, he chose the path of a sycophant lawyer and dumped on, and had his ass-covering MSM dump on, the independent prosecute HE himself hired to investigate ...

But I digress acutely here, horribly forgetting you are now a person of 'pod'.

Just disregard everything I have said above and point an accusing a finger at me as you drop open your mouth and sound the deafening siren to your brethren that I have not been converted and I have quite possibly brought harm and/or quite possibly have brought harm and destruction to the pod set out for my conversion. FYI, I had been a liberal(ish) democrat since the mid-1970s, and voted as such ... but had a huge awakening during the 1990s.

When did I awaken?

I remember it clearly ... I was watching the live cable news coverage of a compound in Waco, Tx. as Reno and Clark ordered it invaded ... and it burnt to the ground will Americans (whoever they were ... what ever they were accused of) inside who had NOT fired a single shot ... From that day on I saw EVERYTHING so very clearly with the democrats, Clinton ... and the MSM. To this day I am 'thankful' for those people inside that Waco compound whose lives were 'sacrificed' in order for MY eyes to be opened.

drillanwr; excellent post, excellent, and congrats on waking up to the facts that drive the real world. I had the same awakening many years ago, and the last eight have solidified my conservative beliefs. Alvaro's post was sickening and sad, but they feel real warm inside living their lies and distortions - they're pathetic.

Posted by: Mambi [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2009 11:52 AM

Henry is more than right on the tax cheat thing...if a Republican would've been in the running for the post he/she would have been cruicified for sure.

Mambi - if the last 8 years solidified your "conservate bliefs" then you have no idea what conservatism is. W and his liberal yes liberal internationalism is the traditional Wilsonian Democratic model on steroids. If you want to know what a conservative foreign policy is read what W and Rice were saying BEFORE 9-11. As for domestic policy W was never a conservative. Cutting taxes alone does not make you conservative - controling spending, limiting the federal government those things are conservative. Neither of which W ever tried to do.

Besides the fact that this is someone's child, not the individual, I present two cases for your perusal:

Nixon shaking hands with Mao

and

Bush *holding* hands with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

Mambi -

While I have a deep love and admiration for Pres. George W. Bush (NO other president, whatever party, could have weathered the crap this man has from the MSM the left, the democrats, Hollywood, et al) he has disappointed me on other issues ... mostly because, I believe, he tried to hard NOT to fuel the fire already being fanned in the above stated critics, but to not appear mean and nasty (as if that matters ...).

In eight years I have greatly admired his sticking to his 'guns' in Iraq ...

In eight years my conservative values have been strengthened not so much by Pres. Bush, but by the opposition to him and the slithering out of the democrat's leftist/socialist, and dare I name it Communist, agenda for this country.

Unfortunately, half the country has been less than able to read between those code-worded lines of the left/democrats.

In eight years my love and loyalty to our US military has grown and grown ... deeper and deeper.

In this world I will never be able to pay back the debt of my gratitude to our service men and women, and to their families. I am so privileged to know several young Marines who have served multiple deployments, and have been severely wounded but requested re-deployment ASAP after recovery ... and also privileged to have known a baby-faced young Army Ranger who was returned home to his family in the countryside by his brothers in arms to be put to rest ... his final words to his family stressing his dedication to his service, to the mission in Iraq, and to his CiC George W. Bush ... whom he was devoted to.

In eight years this President has returned the more than deserved respect and pride this country should have for our military ... but had been taken for granted during the years between Vietnam and 9-11-01.

Maggie, your comment "In eight years my conservative values have been strengthened not so much by Pres. Bush, but by the opposition to him..." is what I had in mind when I wrote my comment. The behavior of the liberal/left over the past eight years is sickening and scary. Notwithstanding, I believe President Bush has been unfairly maligned by some conservatives. He made an effort to be bi-partisan, tried to use conservative principles to help the truly needy, and put our country first when it came to defending us. If the DEMs don't screw up Iraq, time will show that Bush's moves were bold, if painful and poorly managed at times. Finally, we'll never get our country back if we start fighting amongst ourselves. We either stick together or go down back-biting each other.

Mambi: Finally, we'll never get our country back if we start fighting amongst ourselves. We either stick together or go down back-biting each other.

Amen! Amen! Amen!

Time to reflect on our 'mistakes, re-group, and come out strong in two years ... Start with those seats and work our way back up that mountain.

Obama intends on abandoning Iraq from day one in office:

Pelosi will continue the bullshit the dems have pulled for eight years in senseless and useless spending of our money, time and attention:

Pray.

Pray hard.

God still listens, even though we don't always deserve it.

This may not be true. Leon Panetta has only sons.

Posted by: RobCon [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 18, 2009 10:04 PM

Obama has only sons. Too funny.
But this post has engendered some of the best things I've read about truth and Bush. So even if the picture is a misrepresentation, it was worth it for these letters in response.

Posted by: honey [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 19, 2009 08:53 AM

Of course I meant Panetta has only two sons. I was funny too without intending it.

Posted by: honey [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 19, 2009 08:57 AM

If wikepedia bio info is correct, this Linda Panetta only shares the last name but is not a daughter.

Ziva et al,

I apologize for my part on this ... I read about it in a couple of blogs ... since then, I have learned that it was not true.

I found this link on an article about the story ... about conservatives blogs being duped ... was it purposely put out there as bait for the blogs to take and run with it? Who knows ...

"The controversy demonstrates that conservative blogs can be duped or misled when they want to believe something sensational about the other side. The error, which demonstrates the need for higher journalistic standards in the conservative blogosphere, is already being exploited in an effort to discredit conservative sources of information about the Obama Administration."

I encourage you to read the entire article ... it has plenty of information on Leon Panetta too!

I wish you well :) Melek
