It's a great day in America
Regardless of who you voted for today is a special day in America. Not because of Barack Obama or who he his, what he stands for or what policies he might implement but because power will once again pass peacefully from the hands of one man to another in our great country. Today Republicans become the loyal opposition as Bill Bennett says. We will praise the president and the congress when it's merited and we will criticize them when it's merited as well. In less than two years there will be a referendum on President Obama in the form of mid-term elections and conservatives need to plan for that. In less than four years we'll have an opportunity to run a qualified and articulate conservative candidate. Let's not blow it.

I think it's also a great day for history and for Black Americans. I cannot even begin to imagine what they must be feeling.
Peaceful transfer and the first Black president.

Yes, it's a great country, but I have a tough time stomaching what's taken place when I receive the following text message from a liberal friend of mine, "free at last, thank God almighty we're free at last." He's white, and is using that famous quote to rub in the fact that Bush is gone, and his liberal pals are in. He despised the President for 8 years and never had a decent word for him. He is the perfect example of the hate-filled, intolerant mindset that finally paid off for the DEMs. Witnessing the disgusting behavior of the DEM Party over the past eight years I have a difficult time being bi-partisan right now.

Mambi,
You can't change the way liberals act. They will never have decency or decorum. I don't think we need to be bi-partisan, I think we need to be conservative Republicans that respect the office and authority of the president and call him to account responsibly when it's required. It should be in our DNA to treat them fairly even though they don't treat us fairly. It's what makes us better than them.
