First Lady's fashions, designed by a Cuban
That's probably the reason she wasn't in black and red, the colors of the 26th of July Movement tonight like she was on election night.

Cuban or Martian designer ~ makes no difference, the inaugural dress/gown/puke-colored whatevertheywere threads, was an eye sore. She should've been ticketed by the fashion police or at least cited with a warning that the color is BAD for her.
Yuk.
Pero bueno, aunque se vista de seda ......

Not to be a smartypants sabelotodo, but Narciso Rodriguez (the designer of the "Black Widow" red/black dress) is Cuban too.
It's surprising to me that she didn't go with him this time, and even more surprising that she went with ANOTHER Cuban-American fashion designer.
Whilst Obama confines his "hidden" messages to giving the finger surreptiously during speeches, Michelle clearly works at a higher Machiavellian level.
Cheers,
Victoria

I am surprised not to have seen anyone comment on the revolting double standard in the msm.
Look at the detailed glowing reverence for the excellence of taste and fashion sense of Mrs. Obama and contrast that with the ugly put downs of the money spent by others for the outfits bought for Sarah Palin. The msm are shameful and they get a pass at every turn.
Is my memory faulty? I don't remember this total adulation of George Bush in the msm for either of his inaugural.
It would be more fitting to wait until President Obama achieves some good for the country before we decide to worship him.

I have always worn black and red to make a political statement. What's wrong with that?

"Marifea" has indeed worn black and red, very publicly, and quite recently. I believe it coincided with a "revolutionary" anniversary, too. I saw the photo. But of course, it must have been a coincidence.

Maybe she was channeling Eleggua. You know, Red & Black was corrupted by Fidel who made the movement that color because of Eleggua the Orisha who opens & closes the path.
