Cigar Mike's Oy Vay Commentary

Happy Hump Day infidels. Since we are in the new era of change, I've decided to start what I shall call my "Oy Vay" commentary.

So to start, we are in two wars, we're at war with terrorists, there was wankers out there who want to release the world's most dangerous terrorists at Gitmo into the USA and into the civilian courts, the economy sucks, the market tanked yesterday, Hugo Chavez said President Obama has a "stench", fifo and his brother are alive and there are panty wipes out there who want to give them credit and want to travel to the hotels out there so they can trade clothes and food for sex with underage Cuban women, the banks are on the verge of nationalization, a treasury secretary nominee who "forgot" to pay over $40K in self employment taxes (did I say $40K? Oy vay!); Nancy Pelosi told the President to "get the f*ck out of [her] House" because She's the one in charge of the country right now, and what are the buttmunch national media and lefty bloggers reporting on?

The gowns worn by the first lady, about how she wore her hair, about why the color "lemongrass" represents "hope", and that her dirty underwear was hand spun by dwarfs using the finest silk woven by the finest gay silkworms from China.

Howard Beale would be screaming right now. Oy vay! By the way, did I mention the treasury secretary nominee not paying $40K in income taxes? And these are the same buttwipes who want to raise my taxes? The taxes that I pay? I'm no Harvard graduate, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know you have to pay self employment taxes on Schedule C income. Heck, if this putz had used Turbo Tax he would have known that. A triple oy vay!.

Oh and what I really find amusing is the media saying how the first couple brings "grace" to the White House. Spare me. Nancy Reagan and Jackie Kennedy had "grace". Michelle Obama instead has a good inside jump shot and can get to the basket. Heck, I wonder if President Obama is going to duck her heels if he gets out of line (anyone remember the Eddie Murphy routine on this?). So another oy vay.

In sum, if you want to read a good article for a change, read Juan William's article today in the WSJ entitiled, "Judge Obama on Performance Alone." He notes:

If his presidency is to represent the full power of the idea that black Americans are just like everyone else -- fully human and fully capable of intellect, courage and patriotism -- then Barack Obama has to be subject to the same rough and tumble of political criticism experienced by his predecessors. To treat the first black president as if he is a fragile flower is certain to hobble him. It is also to waste a tremendous opportunity for improving race relations by doing away with stereotypes and seeing the potential in all Americans.

Yet there is fear, especially among black people, that criticism of him or any of his failures might be twisted into evidence that people of color cannot effectively lead. That amounts to wasting time and energy reacting to hateful stereotypes. It also leads to treating all criticism of Mr. Obama, whether legitimate, wrong-headed or even mean-spirited, as racist.

This is patronizing. Worse, it carries an implicit presumption of inferiority. Every American president must be held to the highest standard. No president of any color should be given a free pass for screw-ups, lies or failure to keep a promise.

Democratic Senator: Mr. Geithner, is there any reason why you did not pay the $40K in income tax?
Mr. Geithner: Uh, ... Senator, I forgot.
Democratic Senator: Okee Doke! You're in.
