But...But weren't all Julio 26 people fervent democrats and liberty-lovers?

This Julio 26 office from early 1959 was in Miami (no less!) Please note the ethnic diversity of Castro supporters.... and I sure see a lot of clenched fists for these "fervent anti-communists."

My only hope is that all the individuals seen in that photograph are still alive. They deserve every single oz. of the shame they must feel. Better yet, they should be made to return to the Cuba of today - to live out their final days as ordinary Cubans of the year 2009. And when their health begins to fail, let them be treated in hospitals used by ordinary Cubans. Give them a wage on-par with the average Cuban salary and force them to pay for every aspirin, every antibiotic, every bed pan they use - just as our families still on the island are forced to.

Ignorance truly shouldn't give rise to bliss in the case of these parasites.

Well, unfortunately, there IS a sucker born every minute (or an oppostunist, or a "resentido"). If any of these people are still around and lucid, I expect that at best they'd say they were deceived by Castro. Maybe they were, but I wouldn't want to be one of them.

No you certainly would not want to be one of these.

January 17th 1959 I quit the Castro service (after nine months of trying to stay alive and fighting in the Sierra and the Cauto Plains). I had always refused to execute anybody. Then in Campamento Managua, near "Las Tetas de Managua," I got shot at "accidentally" twice. Even a person as dense as myself can take a hint.

I waited until mother, a granddaughter of the Mayor General (something that even then offered a little protection) came to visit and resigned. Almeida said "la revolucion no ha acabado." I responded untactfully "para mi si ha acabado."

Two years later I was arrested ... that is when I remembered that I was English (;>)

See my manuscript in progress "Narrations of War in Cuba" old and very preliminary drafts are on the web.

I'm really surprised no one has ever made a hit list of these scumbags. I'm sure the information is hard to get, but it would be nice to have our own MUNIC. Just a thought.

Readytoshoot:

Question given the above would I be on that hit list?

Just would like to know so I can get my things in order

Gosh, I soon as I saw the picture I was reminded of the "Hope and Change" and "Yes We Can" morons that placed Obama in the Presidency. Not to equate Obama to Castro, but there are parallels to the always available useful idiots clamoring for "change", bouncing around like little children, blindly supporting 'messiahs' that will cure all perceived wrongs. The problem is that the rest of us pay the price for the actions of such idiots. I want to see the first Obama supporter who complains that he/she didn't realize things would go so wrong. I'll be sorely tempted to kick them in the ass - stupid, miserable shits.
