We won't go quietly into that good night

I received this email exchange this morning from a friend who was contacted by Dem neighbor to call his congressman (Mario Diaz-Balart) to vote FOR the new Messianic stimulus package. Of course, he -- along with millions of conservatives around the nation, yours truly included -- oppose it, just like we opposed the Bush bailout and sundry other liberal big-spending schemes.

Here is the original email and my friend's response. It's been slightly edited for readability, and with the names removed to protect the reputation of the moron Dem who initiated it:

Friends,

On Wednesday January 28th, The Economic Plan will go before Congress for vote. I urge to write or call your representative and ask him/her to vote in favor of this important Economic Plan!!! The web-site is indicated below.

Please remember that this is not a Republican or a Democratic issue but A PEOPLE'S ISSUE!!! I have already called and sent an e-mail to Representative Mario Diaz-Balart who represents District 25. GET INVOLVED!!!! IT IS OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE!!!

What changed? Now suddenly we have to work in a bipartisan way for the good of the PEOPLE?! Why couldn’t you Democrats do the same before January 20th? During the last 8 years all you Democrats have done is to attempt to destroy the reputation of the president so as to create a climate for your victory and to regain the much DESIRED power.

The current economic crisis is in part a fabrication of the leftist press along with the Democratic Party. You guys scared the PEOPLE and they fell for it, even people who still have their jobs are cutting spending because they are scared of the economic crisis. Besides, you guys created and promoted the housing crisis – and shame on George Bush for not stopping it, he should have stood in national TV and alert the American people of what was coming their way because of the Democrat policies.

Nothing that the previous president proposed was for the good of the people, right? Because he is evil right? And now that the Messiah is in the White House and everything will be different. You know what? You (Democrats and Bush haters) will get nothing from the conservatives, especially if you start creating those huge government intervention plans. The only way to fix the economy is for the government to step aside and let the PEOPLE do their job. Why not cut taxes and let the PEOPLE spend their money? I don’t want the politicians deciding how to spend my money, and that’s what this plan does! I wasn’t for the first bail out either. Shame on Bush for that. I pay the government only to protect my country and my God given rights.

As you know I was born, raised and educated in Communist Cuba. I know what to expect when a Communist open his or her mouth (and Obama is one!). I know their tactics, I know how they play on people’s guilt to get what they want (which is power). I am sorry to tell you that you are falling for it. As a Cuban you should know better.

I am sure I can find the words of your email “Please remember that this is not a Republican or a Democratic issue but A PEOPLE'S ISSUE!!!” in many instances of [c]astro’s and [c]havez’ speeches. Please don’t try again with me. It insults my intelligence.

I will certainly call Mario Diaz-Balart and urge him to vote against the bill.
