WIN A TRIP TO CUBA!
That is right, my friends, you can win an (almost) all expenses paid trip to Cuba and stay in the famous Hotel Nacional in Havana, Cuba by entering a contest being held by a Philadelphia radio station. They call it a "humanitarian mission," but don't expect to be paying a visit to Oscar Elias Biscet in jail, or helping Yoani Sanchez gain access to the internet, or join Cuban dissidents passing out copies of the UN Declaration of Human Rights. This is not that type of humanitarian mission. This humanitarian mission is to help Cuban musicians sell their music overseas.
It's funny because I was just thinking the other day that what would really help Cubans is for its musicians to be able to market their music and talents outside the island. Freedom and the ending of oppression is all fine and dandy, but what the Cuban people really need is some help with marketing.
Claudia4Libertad has the rundown on this contest.

If they want to help a really independent musician inside Cuba, they should help Gorki form Porno para Ricardo, but I'm sure that he's not even on their radar. What a farce!
